Hosting a baby shower can be a little overwhelming at first, but once you start planning it and things start to come together, you’ll soon realize it’s not as bad as you think. Below are the pros and cons of whether or not you should have the baby shower at your home or rent a 觀塘 party room.
Reasons for Having the Shower at Your Home
1.) If you have a large enough living space to accommodate the guest list, you may want to have it at home. A guest list of 10-12 people may fit nicely in a living room. If it’s nice outside and you have a large space outside, you may want to consider having the shower outside. You can fit more people – if you have enough chairs.
2.) You don’t have to haul all of the decorations, food, drinks and gifts to the venue.
3.) You save money on not having to rent a space for the event.
4.) You save time by not having to research places to rent out.
5.) You may have to rent tables and chairs for the shower if the rental room doesn’t supply it. However, you may have to rent them anyway if you don’t have enough at home.
Reason for Having a Shower Somewhere Else
1.) If you have a large guest list, making sure you have adequate room to fit everyone is a huge benefit.
2.) You may have to rent tables and chairs also for the shower if the rental room doesn’t supply it. Again, you may have to rent them anyway if the party room doesn’t supply it.
3.) You don’t have to clean your house. This sits very well with me.
4.) You don’t have to clean your house when the baby shower is over! (Of course you’ll still have to clean up your mess in the party room, but it’s not nearly as bad.
5.) Renting out a room for the party also ensures that guests won’t over stay. If you rent the room for 3 hours, have the shower for 2 hours (that gives you a half hour on both sides to set up and take down), guests won’t mingle for long.
It doesn’t matter if you decide to host the shower at your home or somewhere else. The only thing that does matter is the expecting mother is celebrated. It may make it easier to have the shower in a rented party room if the guest list is large.
